What Are They & Why We Use Them
Drainage composites are useful materials that help with separating, draining, filtering, and even strengthening areas in various projects. They are important for preventing water from collecting in unwanted spots.
You can use drainage composites above ground to create pathways for water to flow away, which helps prevent flooding while keeping the soil in place. When placed at the bottom of a slope, they direct water to specific areas and also protect the soil from washing away or shifting to places you don’t want it to go.
Drainage composites can be made from different materials, like a plastic mesh called HDPE geonet, often combined with a nonwoven fabric. They can also be created using monofilament mats made from polypropylene, paired with nonwoven fabric on one or both sides. Do you have any projects that could benefit from better drainage?
